Our History

Yoga DrishTi Community Wellness [DrishTi] was founded in 2012 by Nicole deViere, RYT and Holistic Wellness Counselor. What started as a yoga studio has since blossomed to include holistic wellness counseling, events, community collaborations, and more.

After years of training with Vishali Varga, who has decades of experience teaching yoga, yoga philosophy, and anatomy, Nicole was certified as a Registered Yoga Teacher [RYT] in 2012. Nicole has also studied Ayurveda, a whole-body healing system with its roots in India, with Sonam Targee, an Ayurvedic, Herbal, and Nutritional Counselor, since 2015. To date, Nicole has accumulated thousands of hours teaching the hatha and bhakti yoga tradition and nearly one thousand hours in herbal training and treatment. Nicole graduated from the LMT program at Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in June of 2019. In the fall, DrishTi will offer massage services with a special emphasis in Ayurvedic & Orthopedic Massage.

Nicole is passionate about sharing what she's learned with those who are looking for ways to align, connect, and experience the life enhancing qualities of a holistic lifestyle.

About Us

Our Mission

To share the fullness of yoga in its entirety, which includes the alignment of

mind, body, and soul. To be a conduit of living well practices. To help the community discover its drishti.

Yoga for Everyone

DrishTi practices and teaches Alignment Based Yoga (inspired by B.K.S Iyengar and Nicole's anatomy training) along with Bhakti Yoga, (love, devotion, service), and Tantra (bringing the spiritual practice together). Many lineages are woven together that Nicole has studied to provide optimal alignment in mind, body, and spirit.

Nicole blends ancient yogic philosophy, anatomy, and alignment to create comfortable yoga classes and welcoming experiences.

Classes are held in an intimate setting where each yogi is acknowledged.

Private Sessions

Nicole also offers private sessions by appointment, including yoga and holistic wellness lifestyle consultations that are customized for each individual.

Nicole will work with you to design a path that will lead you to the next level in your yoga practice or a higher sense of well-being.

What Goes In, Stays In

The products we use and sell at DrishTi matter to us because they affect the bodies we live in and the environment we inhabit. Therefore, we strive to use minimally processed, whole, quality, organic products.

We diffuse only the highest/uncut therapeutic grade essential oils during classes. We burn non-toxic house-made candles to keep harmful fumes out of the environment.

FAQ

  • What to wear?

    • Well fitting clothes that have some give to them

  • Where to park?

    • Parking is available in the lot directly in front of the building and on the street. Do not park at Dunkin' Donuts - they tow!

  • What to bring?

    • An open heart and mind

    • Mats, blocks, bands, and blankets are available for use

    • We encourage yogis with a regular practice to purchase their own mat

  • What if I’ve never done yoga before?

    • We offer private sessions and classes that can accommodate first-timers

  • Do I have to be flexible?

    • No. One of the many misconceptions is that yoga is based on far you can stretch. However, it is possible to be too flexible and over extend, so a healthy practice finds the balance between strength and length

  • What’s the best way to pay?

    • Cash, credit cards, and checks accepted in the studio

    • Memberships and event registration can also be completed online
