The practice of Therapeutic Massage is defined as applying a scientific system of activity to the human body's muscular structure for the purpose of improving muscle tone and circulation. Massage has been used for centuries and is one of the oldest forms of natural healing/bodywork.

Therapeutic Massage is a wonderful modality to relieve stress and lower cortisol levels. A session can help you relax by stimulating the "rest and digest" system of the body.

Additionally, Therapeutic Massage is a wonderful treatment for numerous soft-tissue pain and injury problems. Common conditions treated include but are not limited to:

  • Carpal Tunnel

  • Sciatica

  • Piriformis Syndrome

  • Low Back Pain

  • Neck Pain

  • Whiplash

  • Golfer’s Elbow

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Scoliosis

  • Rotator Cuff

  • Frozen Shoulder

  • SI Joint

  • Tendinosis

  • Bunions

  • Knee Pain

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Arthritis

  • Lupus

  • Parkinson’s

Nicole combines her knowledge of human anatomy, energy/body work, and herbal medicine into each session. An individualized session using multiple modalities is implemented based on your goals. Herbs, movements, and natural alternatives may be suggested. For further detail on any of these suggestions an individual session can be booked.

For acute or chronic conditions, a treatment plan outlining what will be addressed and approximately how many visits are suggested may be recommended [updates may be made along the way]. Before a treatment plan is given, an assessment is performed. The assessment is part of the first appointment where the treatment starts. The assessment:

  • Identifies which tissues are most likely involved

  • Determines the most appropriate treatment

  • Helps define progress towards treatment goals

Recommendations and feedback are provided after each massage. All mediums used for massage are made by Nicole with organic ingredients. Look downstairs from DrishTi at the Natural Oasis Restaurant and Retailer for DrishTi Wellness products. All linens are washed with unscented and dye free detergent.

If unsure of which offering to choose, just go by 60 or 90 minutes as we always develop a tailored session for your needs which often involves a combination of modalities.

Massage Offerings

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage: Continuous, long, kneading strokes as well as light, rhythmic and tapping strokes are applied to superficial layers of muscle. Often, a movement of the joints or range of motion is included. This treatment is a great assessment tool for locating adhesions that may benefit from treatment/deep tissue work. It is an excellent palpating tool and can guide future treatments based on what is found in the body. Keep Swedish massage as part of your wellness routine to relieve physical and emotional anxiety, tension, and stress while promoting healthy circulation.  Recommended one time a month.

60 Minutes: $80

90 Minutes: $110

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue Massage:

Often, just one area of the body is treated using slow and deep pressure along with techniques that address deeper muscles [frictioning, scraping, etc.]. This type of massage is primarily used to target a specific area/knot as well as treat chronic pain and muscle injuries [i.e. tennis/golfer’s elbow, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel, etc.]. As a result, treatment plans are a common approach; depending on the condition, a few weeks to several months of weekly appointments may be recommended.

30 Minutes: $50

60 Minutes: $80

90 Minutes: $110

Ayurvedic Modalities

Ayurvedic ModalitiesTreatments rooted in ancient bodywork and healing techniques from India. Each session is based on the person’s dosha, current state, and season.

Herbal Oil Scalp Massage

Warm oil that has been infused with bhringaraj, brahmi, and amla will be massaged into the scalp and throughout the hair. This herbal infused oil may promote strengthening of the hair shaft, increased hair growth, reduced hair fall and split ends, combat dandruff and deeply condition the scalp and hair. Peppermint and lavender essential oils will be used during the treatment to stimulate and invigorate.

*Please Note: You will leave with oil in your hair. Please leave on for at least an hour before washing. A shower cap will be provided to you if needed. If you are sensitive to essential oils, let Nicole know and we can skip those.

30 Minutes: $65

Face Marma Massage

Marma points of the face will be massaged along with muscles for stimulation and relaxation. The gua sha will be used to relax and move lymph. DrishTi Love Your Face Serum will be used which has essential oils [let Nicole know if you prefer just oil]. The base oil used for the face is non-comedogenic.

This treatment should be done on a clean face. A gentle cleanser is provided before and/or after your session.

Click here for more details on marma points.

30 Minutes: $50

If you are late to an appointment, we may have to shorten your massage [you will still pay regular price] depending on the scheduling of that day.

What to Wear

  • Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to remove.

  • Put hair up so the neck is accessible for work; this also limits oil getting into the hair.

  • Remove all jewelry that would get in the way of treatment [e.g., bracelets, watches, necklaces, big earrings].

  • You are covered with a sheet [draped] and only the part of the body being worked on is exposed.

  • Undress to your comfort level [bras removed].

  • For an upper or lower body only massage, you may just remove clothes from that area.
